Summer Kickoff - Recap
Our annual summer kickoff gathering took place Monday June 1, 2026. Coach gave an overview the Armstrong's GIrls Cross Country Team season, training and other helpful tips. This is as summary and the handouts are linked below.
Captains' practices start June 8th at 8am. Meet by the tennis courts at Armstrong.
Captains will communicate with athletes via groupme. Show up at a practice or send Coach Smith a message to be added.
Lifting will be Wednesdays at 9am (after captains' practice). No lifting 7/1.
Our team goal is to run the distance around Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa (3,232 miles). Making it there will require 20+ people to consistently run.
To participate and earn your t-shirt, log your mileage on Garmin Connect and sync to Garmin Clipboard (you'll need 2 apps). Get someone to help you at captains' practice if you don't know how (or I can help on a Wednesday). If you need an alternative, send me a message. I want to count your miles!
Official practices start August 17th. Even if you don't train this summer, we'll be very happy to have you there!

Booster Meeting
The booster club met following the summer kickoff and elected the officers for the 2026 season. See the links below or check out the booster page for more information.
A big thank you to parents that were able to join. With much of the board having seniors this coming year, it is important for additional parents to help out. Please drop into any of our future meetings to learn more about what the booster club does to help our coaches and school make the program a success.
