2024 Girls Cross Country Running Results

Meet Highlights

Metro Invite - 9/14/24 - Recap

We had a lot of PRs and great individual results at this race!

• Elliot finished her first 5k!

• Pauline at Hendrix had the biggest PRs of the meet, almost 5 minutes faster than their previous times.

• Destiny and Jaidyn both improved on their marks by over 2 minutes.

• Elise and Evelyn both dropped close to 2 minutes and finished in the top 15 in the JV race, winning their first race t-shirts! The both skipped the 24s, going straight from PRs in the 25s to the 23s.

• Jozy, Lucy, and Grace all PRed by over a minute, as well.

• Addy PRed by 53 seconds, breaking 23 for the first time.

• Amaya Pred by 22 seconds.

• Naomi PRed by 14 seconds, narrowly missing going under 20 for the first time (20:00.6).

• Our JV team took 4th of 12 teams--just 1 point out of 3rd. Every person you pass matters!

Hopkins Invitational - 9/5/24 - Recap

• Hendrix and Jaidyn both dropped over 2 minutes from their previous times.

• Lucy, Amaya, and Evelyn all dropped a bit over a minute.

• Jozy, Grace, and Violet all ran PRs, as well.

• Violet's PR of 23:54 was enough to get her 15th place in the JV race. She competed hard and passed multiple runners to get into that position and earn a t-shirt.

• Naomi was our runner of the meet. She made a huge jump, improving by 51 seconds to run 20:14.  She placed 14th in the Varsity race. This time makes her the 4th fastest Armstrong athlete since girls started running the 5k distance in 2015.

St. Olaf Showcase 8/29/24 - Wrap-up

• Naomi finished 3 seconds behind her PR in a time of 21:05. This is a freshman course record for our team and 1:37 faster than she ran on this course a year ago.

• Soleil finished her first 5k since 2021 in a time that puts her 13th on our course record list (22:51).

• Addy finished just 13 seconds slower than her PR and 2:12 faster than she did at the same meet last year (23:44).

• Shiloh also joined the course top 20 list (19th) in a time of 24:17, over a minute faster than last year.

• Anna made 20th on the list in a time of 24:28.

• Jozy, Evelyn, Lucy, Grace, Jaidyn, Pauline, and Hendrix all ran their first 5k (or at least first 5k as an Armstrong athlete)

• Amaya ran a 50 second PR (27:05)

• Destiny ran over 5 minutes faster than 2023, and narrowly missed a PR.

• Elise earned runner of the meet for PRing by over 3 minutes (25:21), beating her 2023 time by over 7 minutes, and passing 33 runners in the last mile of the race.

Course top 20 performances:

• Naomi - #5(her previous best is 9th)

• Soleil - #8(her previous best is 17th)

• Addy - #15 (first time on the list)

• Shiloh - #20 (first time on the list)

Grade level top 5s:

• Evelyn - #5, 8th grade

• Naomi - #1, 9th grade

• Addy - #2, 10th grade

• Shiloh - #4, 10th grade

• Soleil - #4, 12th grade
